Engineering Project Managers

PCH Engineers was founded in 2022 by Patrick Hendry, after several years delivering MEP project engineering management on a major projects in Doha, Qatar. We apply hands-on mechanical and electrical engineering experience to project management – a different discipline to M&E design consultancy or generalist project management.

Engineering project management is the specialised discipline of planning, organizing, and controlling engineering projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. It bridges the gap between technical engineering expertise and strategic business goals, transforming complex designs into tangible results by managing resources, timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

We hold £5M Professional Indemnity cover and work directly with clients to develop scope, place orders, and hold contractors to account. Our job isn’t done until the systems we’ve overseen are operational and our client is happy.

Paddy Hendry CEng MCIBSE

Paddy graduated with first class honours in 2004 then later achieved a Distinction in an MSC in Building Services Engineering Management in 2009. Paddy became a CIBSE Chartered Engineer in 2010. After serving his time as an Apprentice Electrician with NG Bailey, Paddy gained 11 years experience at design consultancies in the UK and in Australia. He started PCH Engineers in 2019 after spending 4 years client-side delivering MEP Project Engineering Management for a major project in Doha, Qatar.

Andy Haney MIET

Andy has over twenty years of direct experience on delivering M&E projects. Andy is a skilled and pragmatic engineer with a focus on construction and project delivery. He has a deep knowledge of engineering services and how they can be successfully delivered. He has a HNC (2003) from Leeds Metropolitan University in Building Services Engineering. Andy started out as an engineering apprentice before working up through site-based project engineer roles to become a project manager. Andy achieved his MIET in 2017.

Dan Mackintosh

Dan is Building Services Engineer experienced in the delivery of projects from pre-construction design through to completion and aftercare. Dan has 15+ years' experience and has worked as an Apprentice Pipe fitter/Welder, Site Supervisor, and Project Manager in various sectors including healthcare, hotels, offices, and distribution centres. Dan skills ensure clients needs are maintained, whether this is project delivery or technical support. Dan strives to go above and beyond, to maintain excellent client relationships.

Safety and quality run through everything we do. Every project is delivered with a meticulous, safety-conscious approach – from site inspections through to final handover such that our clients are left with systems that work. Our team hold up to date CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualifications as well as annual asbestos awareness training.

Our Frameworks

We are Accredited Suppliers on several procurement frameworks including Government Commercial Agency (appointed to Construction Professional Services DPS RM6242), Constellia and Bloom. We are also currently working towards appointment to the NHS SBS framework. Through these procurement routes we enjoy lasting relationships with the public sector.
