Modern Slavery Policy

PCH Engineers Ltd

Our Modern Slavery Policy

1. Policy Statement
PCH Engineers Limited (“the Company”) is committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking do not exist within our business or our supply chains. We operate a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of forced labour, servitude and human trafficking. This policy outlines our internal standards and the expectations we have for all individuals and organisations working for us or on our behalf.

2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees (whether permanent, fixed-term or casual) of PCH Engineers Limited.

3. Standards and Prohibitions
To prevent the occurrence of modern slavery, the Company strictly enforces the following prohibitions:
• Forced Labour: All work must be conducted on a voluntary basis; no worker shall be forced to work against their will
• Child Labour: The Company prohibits the use of child labour in any part of its operations or supply chain
• Freedom of Movement: Workers must be free to leave their employment in accordance with their established contracts
• Identification Documents: The Company is prohibited from confiscating or holding original passports or identity documents of workers
• Recruitment Fees: No worker shall be charged recruitment fees or “work-finding” fees as a condition of employment

4. Due Diligence and Supply Chain Management
As a professional services consultancy we identify our primary risks within our secondary supply chains (facilities management, IT manufacturing) and onsite labour. We manage these risks through:
• Verification: Conducting mandatory “Right to Work” checks for all staff to prevent illegal or coerced labour
• Supplier Expectations: We expect our sub-consultants and contractors to mirror our high ethical standards and maintain their own anti-slavery protocols
• Site Monitoring: Utilising our “Clerk of Works” and “Project Manager” roles to maintain visibility of the labour force on project sites
• Fair Pricing: Avoiding “aggressive pricing” that could lead to suppliers cutting corners on labour costs or safety

5. Training and Awareness
• Induction: Modern slavery awareness forms a core part of the induction process for all new staff
• Briefings: Directors and Project Managers receive regular briefings on identifying “red flags” (e.g., signs of physical abuse, lack of PPE, or restricted freedom) during site visits
• Guidance: Detailed staff guidance is provided to assist in the identification and reporting of suspected risks

6. Reporting and Whistleblowing
Any individual who suspects a breach of this policy, whether within our business or our supply chain must report it immediately to the Director.
• Internal Action: We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action, including the termination of business relationships with non-compliant parties
• Protection: No individual will suffer detrimental treatment for reporting a concern in good faith, even if the concern is later found to be mistaken
• External Advice: Staff are encouraged to contact the Modern Slavery Helpline (0800 0121 700) for confidential advice
